Summer Sparks to Fall Fire

Starting August in Oregon

The month kicked off with a trip to Oregon, where I had the privilege of preaching at Life in Christ Center at the tail end ofJuly. I’ve got so much love for my church family there. There’s something about those moments together that refreshes my spirit and makes me so thankful for the beauty of church family and community. So much of my spiritual formation happened in that building and among those people - and there’s definitely a part of visiting there that will always feel like coming home. It was a great time of worship, connection, and sharing the word God gave me for LCC.

Serving at National Fine Arts

Right after that, I headed to Columbus, Ohio, for the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival and National Youth Convention. I was able to catch the presentations of several Wyo students - and they’re just the stinkin best. I also had the honor of evaluating human video large entries. Let me tell you, these students brought it! Watching them step out in their creativity and use their talents to glorify God was inspiring and really fun to be a part of. It’s such a joy to serve at events like this and to be a part of what God is doing in this next generation. I’m grateful for every chance I get to serve and pour into young people and help them see the impact they can have.

Rich Preaching in Hulett

In addition to inspiration, the other thing Nationals gave me… was germs. Haha. I came back with a gnarly fever and cold. Thankfully, Rich stepped in and preached a powerful message in Hulett, Wyoming, about ownership and how each of us has a role in God’s mission. It was such a timely word. He’s my favorite. I love seeing how he encourages people to take action and realize they have a purpose in God’s bigger story. No one is on the sidelines—we’re all called to be a part of this incredible mission.

Training with Forrest in Salt Lake City

Another highlight was traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, with Rich and joining Forrest Rowell, the Rocky Mountain Youth Alive Missionary, for a training session. We had the opportunity to train students on how to start movements (clubs) on their campuses and share Jesus with their student communities. There’s nothing quite like watching students catch the vision and get excited about being bold for Jesus. We brought the splash tower, which is always a hit, and I was able to share a well received word about personal missions and intentionality.

Looking Toward Fall

August also meant a lot of prep work for the fall and the coming school year. I’ve been busy planning and making sure we’re ready for what’s ahead - while reminding myself to rest. As August comes to a close, I’m looking back on the summer with so much gratitude. God has been so faithful in every service, every conversation, and every moment of ministry. I’m thankful for every student, leader, and opportunity we had to be a part of what God is doing. This summer has been packed with growth, investment, and mission—and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to what’s next and to continuing this journey together!
