What’s a hero? Does it require perfection? Is it just someone you admire or would like to have similar attributes to?
The Bible is filled with the examples of many (imperfect) people who God used as heroes of the faith. Moses is one of those people - even having some of his major faith accomplishments listed in Hebrews 11.
However, it’s not really any of his big accomplishments that resonate with me - but how he entered God’s presence. Starting in Exodus 34:29 it talks about how after Moses comes down from Mt Sinai he didn’t know that his face shone because of having been in God’s presence. …And then all the Israelites were afraid of him (that part isn’t the goal… that’s not where this is going.)
But I do want to go so regularly and so boldly into the presence of God that people I am around and encounter have no doubt that “that woman hangs out with the Lord”. I want there to be no mistake. I want to never take for granted the fact that we can come boldly to God’s throne. We GET to do that. To be reconciled to the Father and have full access… because Jesus made the way.
And I don’t want to leave unchanged - but to reflect and shine Jesus ever more. To be marked by the presence and the anointing of God, continually. To hear His voice more and more clearly. I want something about me to spiritually, even almost physically, reflect God. Of course my thoughts, my words, my attitude, my actions, my giftings - but even deeper than that.
Here’s to time in His presence, seeking and finding, tarrying and praying through.
