Summer :)
This month my primary focus was summer camps. I came up and did some photography work for kids camp but youth camp was really my primary focus. During camp we had a booth, led late night events (a video game and waffle bar event, and an escape room event,) and taught a YA 1 Hour. Rich and I also served as deans of men and women and I took photos.
The Youth Alive 1 Hour was challenging but extremely fun and rewarding. It was difficult to get the Alive in 5 teaching to fit in an hour time-slot. But we did it and found a way to make it fun and creative. (If there's anything worth making creative and fun - it's the Gospel. Finding fun and creative ways to engage students is one of my favorite things to do!) I was so thankful for the opportunity to speak go the students at camp. With Youth Alive being so new to Wyoming, any opportunity I have to speak to students is always crucial. I am praying for more instances where I can express the heart, culture, and purpose of Youth Alive during district events.
The camp team was so accommodating and we were able to bring all four of our kids with us to camp (which they loved!) I definitely had an "am I INSANE?!" moment about taking a potty training toddler and a newborn to camp - but they did SO well.
By far, my absolute favorite part of the month was that we had three absolutely incredible Youth Alive interns (Arianna, Nate & Ally) who helped out with everything. They are amazing and have been an answer to prayer. We couldn't have done everything we did at camp without them and I don't want them to leave to college! But I'm excited for how God might stir their hearts toward his mission. It's my prayer thay each one of them would begin to catch a fire for helping people know Jesus. Working alongside them has also renewed my fervant prayers for a youth alive team here in Wyoming.
Here are some measurables for the month of July:
117 students Alive in 5 trained and equipped with a YA Fire Bible
36 campus missionaries
22 students equipped with a movement guide
3 incredible interns
