Missional Creativity

This year’s Called & Creative Conference was more than a weekend gathering—it was a launchpad for purpose. Across the board, students came not just to showcase their gifts, but to discover that their creativity isn’t just something they have—it’s something they’re called to use. Whether it was songwriting, children’s lessons, dance, preaching, art, or something still forming in their imagination, the message was clear: God wants to use your creativity on mission.

That’s why we were so excited to officially launch the Youth Alive Outreach Planning Guides during the event. These free tools were created to help students and leaders turn their heart for outreach into something practical and powerful. We know how overwhelming it can feel to plan an event, especially when you don’t know where to start. These guides break it all down—offering ideas, templates, and a Spirit-led framework to help students build intentional outreaches that fit their context. Watching students flip through the pages, brainstorm together, and light up with vision reminded us just how ready this generation is. They don’t need permission—they need a plan. And now they’ve got tools to help them make one.

One of the most exciting Youth Alive moments of the weekend was leading the “Missional Creativity” workshop with Rich. During this workshop we explored what it looks like to approach outreach not as a formula, but as an act of innovation and partnering with the Holy Spirit. We challenged students to ask: What if your creativity wasn’t a side passion—but a frontline tool for the Kingdom? We talked about using music, story, art, humor, and authenticity to create spaces where Jesus is made known. We truly believe this generation isn’t just called - they’re wildly creative. And when those two collide, anything is possible.
