Youth Alive Daytona

In addition to doing a service in Rock Springs and a youth service in Glenrock, this month was one full of excitement, inspiration and making memories as I graduated with my Master's degree from Northwest University and also attended the annual Youth Alive Missionary retreat in Daytona.

One thing I appreciate about the Youth Alive model is how adaptive it is to different settings. While there definitely is an overarching vision and mission, there is room for creativity and for truly meeting the needs of the specific area one is serving in. This provides for a pretty dynamic experience when you get everyone together. I feel as though I am able to really hear from people all across the country what they're doing that is working well and then prayerfully consider what God has planned for Wyoming. My prayer for quite some time has been for vision. Not my own, but Jesus'.

I think another thing it makes me recognize is how extremely thankful I am to belong to a fellowship like the Assemblies of God that recognizes and prioritizes the next generation. Having a missionary to each state focusing on helping to equip the church and students to reach their campus is vitally important. It's not a people group that can be ignored. I believe only roughly 28/50 of the states have their own designated Youth Alive Missionary. There is room to grow and the need is great! Probably greater than any one of us could realize. GenZ is the least churched generation (by far) and is a wide open mission field.  It's a reminder to not only pray for where I'm at but also that God would continue to send laborers into the harvest. That each state would have AT LEAST one missionary interceding, planning, training, and focusing on reaching GenZ (and subsequent generations) is a need now more than ever.
